In this workshop Detroit Future City will cover the benefits of placemaking, how transforming vacant spaces can create a sense of place in a neighborhood and provide the community with a place to gather.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide additional information on local historic designation, its benefits and regulations, and address questions and concerns. The program will include a presentation on design review by staff of the Historic District Commission and guests from locally designated historic commercial districts.

This three day conference in Baltimore will make space for connection, education, skill-building, and sharing, for worker-owners and allied leaders who work to improve the lives of workers and their families.
